Details
Dušan Scholtz is a Košice-based fine artist closely related to Hevhetia record label. It was his works that opened a cycle of exhibitions held in the iconic Hevhetia shop in Alžbetina street in Košice. His appearance at the festival will include pieces from two cycles of his artwork. The first cycle inspired by Steve Reich´s Different Trains consists of a series of collage art featuring stamps as a symbol of bureaucracy and a seemingly austere order in opposition to human emotions and suffering.
The second cycle is composed of a series of artwork made on the baking paper inspired by the Jánošík-related topics. The artwork reflects on the screening of the first Slovak silent film given on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the film premiere with a congenial accompaniment provided by David Kollar and Tomas Mutina.
The launch event will also include a non-traditional musical performance inspired by Steve Reich´s composition delivered under the artistic direction of the Hevhetia guitarists David Kollar, Szymon Mika, Miloš Železňák and Štefan Szabó.
