Description
The book “Július Fujak: Other musical discourses (creation–interviews–essays/reflections)” (Hevhetia in cooperation with the FOA CPUniversity in Nitra, 2024), compiled by music journalist and musician Ľubomír Pavelka, is dedicated to the profile of one of the pivotal artists in the label Hevhetia, the Slovak intermedia unconventional composer and music aesthetician Július Fujak. It consists of:
a) an editor´s study on his work and publications
b) a selection of interviews with the author from various magazines (2005 – 2024)
c) a selection of essays and reasonings (2002 – 2024)
d) an extensive image attachment
e) almost complete discography and bibliography
f) a digital “the best of” double-album of the author “Other Musical Discursors” (1980 – 2024).
The preface was written by extraordinary composer and violinist Jon Rose (Springwood, Australia) and world-renowned semiotician Eero Tarasti (University of Helsinki, Finland).
The following authors contributed to the afterword: publisher and executive producer Ján Sudzina (Hevhetia), legendary figures of the Czech musical scene Mikoláš Chadima and Vladimír Merta, publicist and director Petr Slabý (UNI), and Slovak composer Adrián Demoč (Hudobný život).
The publication of the book was funded by the Music Fund in Bratislava, the Social and Cultural Fund SOZA, PostmutArt, and the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra.
