Chojnacki / Miguła Contemplations (PL)
Chojnacki / Miguła Contemplations – a project by two young musicians from the Wrocław jazz community: Jan Chojnacki (trumpet) and Filip Miguła (piano). Experienced in performing all kinds of music, from mainstream jazz through its modern varieties, funk and groove to hip-hop and reggae. They recently decided to create their own project. They invited Bartłomiej Chojnacki (double bass) and Dawid Opaliński (drums). Inspired by the music of the world, without thinking about its formal divisions, they draw from it and try to combine something new and fresh to identify themselves. The band won the 3rd prize at the Breeze of the Young Jazz competition in 2018 as part of the Krokus Jazz Festival, as well as reaching the finals of the Jazz Individuality Competition during the 54th Jazz on the Odra Festival. On April 17th 2020 the Band released their debut album called “Chojnacki /Miguła Contemplations”. While waiting for the chance to play again to an audience, the band is preparing new music for their next CD.
