Description
The unique Czech-Norwegian band NOCZ Quartet on their debut album Toys, Toys and Toys comes with a unique mix of free jazz and experimental elements. The Norwegian trumpeter Didrik Ingvaldsen is a leader of the band, while brilliantly complemented by the Czech saxophonist Radim Hanousek. The rhythmic section consists of bassist Marian Friedl and drummer Václav Pálka. The band with certainty and originality moves in the area of free jazz with occasional flavor of ambient, noise, rock and even hard core. NOCZ disposes with its typical energetic, dynamic expression and dense soundscapes, in which a pair of brilliant solo wind instruments is being supported by the dense ground of expressive rhythmic. Modern, precisely composed pieces are continuously alternated by free improvisation fields with an occasional touch of retro sound of past decades.
